Meet The Team

Aaron Steeples

I’m Aaron, the Founder and Managing Director of Steeples Mortgages, which took root in March 2017. For the initial four years, I operated as a one-person team, steadily building our client base each year. My approach has always been to treat every client with the same level of care and dedication, striving to provide the best service for each one. This commitment quickly led to client recommendations, which have been, and continue to be, the cornerstone of our business’s success.

On a typical day, my primary focus involves engaging with clients, whether through face-to-face meetings or over the telephone. Fortunately, my team now provides invaluable support, enabling us to maintain our high standard of service as we grow. Beyond the professional realm, my personal life centers around spending quality time with my family. As my children grow older, much of this involves fulfilling the ever-important “Dad’s Taxi” role. I’m also diligent about visiting the gym at least three times a week and indulging in my passion for walking. Additionally, I have a deep love for travel and have been fortunate to explore some incredible destinations.

Kylie Waite

I’m Kylie, I am the Client Completion and Office Manager, and I’ve been a part of the company since July 2019. Throughout my career, I’ve primarily worked in customer service and administration roles, with a strong emphasis on managing accounts.

My official title is Client Completion Manager, where I oversee every client’s progress once we have submitted their application, ensuring a smooth journey from start to finish. I take great satisfaction in guiding clients through this process and strive to simplify it as much as possible. Applying for a mortgage can be a stressful time so we want to take on as much of this as possible to make sure that each client’s journey is as stress free as possible.

When I’m not at work, I devote a significant portion of my time to our children. We enjoy quality family time through outings and shared meals. Additionally, I have a personal passion for fitness and make an effort to hit the gym regularly. Travelling to explore different countries is another cherished pastime of mine, as I aim to create lasting memories with every adventure.

Duncan Schofield

Hi I am Duncan, a Mortgage and Protection Advisor. I am married with two grown up children and my family mean everything to me.

I am an experienced and dedicated professional with 40 years in the financial services industry. Most of my working life was spent with Royal Bank of Scotland. I had a significant and varied background working with high net worth clients on a personal basis and small to medium businesses including a Healthcare specialism. The knowledge and expertise gained has stood me in good stead for my move into the mortgage industry, especially when dealing with self-employed clients. I pride myself on my personal service and really getting to know my clients and their circumstances so that I am in the best position to advise them.

Since leaving the banking industry in 2018 I decided to move into mortgages and protection, which was a natural move. Following a period working for a firm in Scarborough which gave me valuable experience I joined Aaron at Steeples Mortgages in early 2023. It is good to be working for a local family business and feeling part of the team.

Outside of work I enjoy spectator sports, mainly football and cricket. I try to keep fit with regular walking and the occasional game of badminton with my son. I enjoy travelling and my wife and I love our holidays. We are aiming to visit as many different places as possible.

Natalie Gardner

I’m Natalie. I joined Steeples Mortgages earlier in 2023 and my role at Steeples is a Client Account Manager and I am thoroughly enjoying my role. I love speaking with our existing clients and I am here as a point of contact for them to assist with any queries they have whether that’s a First Time Buyer, Re-mortgage, Life-Time Mortgage or Protection such as our insurance products.

I thrive myself on customer service and it is my main aim to make sure our clients have the best experience with Steeples and that starts with myself as a Client Account Manager. It’s never an easy process going through a re-mortgage or discussing finances but at Steeples we are understanding, friendly and personable which reflects in my personality.

Outside of work I am married and have a young family, Matilda who is 6 and Billy who is 2 who keep us busy with dance and football clubs. I enjoy being outside walking, playing netball and spending time with family.

My Mito Mission

We have now been involved with Chris and the team since May 2023. My Mito Mission is a local Charity based in Elland. Its aims are to:

Raise awareness of Mitochondrial Disease
Support sufferers and their families
Fund research to give hope for treatment and a cure.

Mitochondrial Disease is a hereditary illness where the Mitochondria (the battery packs in every cell of the body) do not work properly. It is often life-limiting, with the major organs of the body most affected, there are no treatments and there is no cure. Although it is as common as Motor Neurone Disease or Cystic Fibrosis it is little known in the general population.

As a company our staff and their families have taken part in a charity walk which involved taking turns to be pushed in a wheelchair for part of the route. Our Managing Director, Aaron has also introduced Chris and the Team to company which are looking at providing funding for Computer Equipment and Office Furniture. We are now working with Chris and the team to arrange further fundraising activities which is going to include a ‘3 peaks challenge’ at some stage during 2024.

The Kirkwood

We started working with Beverley Shaw and the team from December 2023 and are proud to now be an official partner within the Kirkwood Business Movement. Patients, families, and carers are the focus of everything The Kirkwood do, who provide specialist care and support to patients and families, following a life limiting illness diagnosis. Through thick and thin, giant hugs and bottomless mugs are provided by The Kirkwood team, focusing on what matters to people, working tireless to support them in achieving their goals. The Kirkwood have a great facility based in Dalton, Huddersfield and can only really be fully appreciated following a visit which we have been lucky enough to have as a team just before Christmas. We are now working to help fundraise for this great facility and as a company we are also offering our services to all staff members of the Kirkwood with a discount on our usual fees.
